Are you sitting comfortably?

new seatingIt’s here!!!

The new extra-comfy, all singing and dancing, collapsible seating,  Hoorah!  Funded by Three Rivers District Council, the seating not only means a more comfortable experienced for our film, theatre and event audiences, but also a better view.

AND it also collapses to make way for table and chair seating.  Oh, and it can act as a room divider to allow us to host our gallery exhibitions in the hall whilst groups can use the stage end at the same time.

Awesome eh?  If you haven’t had a chance to try out the seats yet, then please do check out what’s on in the next few weeks and give them a whirl.  See you soon!

And the winner is…..

The Spring 2017 ArtHUB exhibition was a great success, with over 700 people visiting the exhibition and nearly 40 artists exhibiting their work.   Those who attended got to vote on their favourite piece, and so without further ado…. the winner is……

ArtHub Spring 2017 a Great Success!

20170213_182843The Henderson Hub’s first ever art exhibition has gotten off to a flying start this week, with hundreds of people through the door to look at the wide range of 2D artwork on display – all from local artists.

As well as more established artists, we have hosted artwork from newcomers who have never displayed their work before – and all have been appreciated by Abbots Langley residents from across the area.

A few pieces have even been sold (three on our first day!) and the range of greetings cards have also proved incredibly popular with visitors, young and old.

The exhibition is on until the 25th February (10am to 4pm all days except Wednesday and Sundays) so please pop in (for the first time, or a further visit) and see us – it’s completely free!

If you aren’t already, you can join our mailing list to find out about supporting future Henderson Hub events and activities  – including future art exhibitions – by signing up using this link

Thank you to

  • All our volunteers who have made this possible – you know who you are!
  • All of the artists who have contributed their work to this exhibition
  • Three Rivers District Council for the funding which enabled us to purchase much of the display equipment.

Support from ALPC into 2017/18…

Abbots Langley Parish CouncilA huge thank you to Abbots Langley Parish Council who on Monday evening unanimously approved a grant of £35,000 towards the running costs of the Henderson Hub to support us in maintaining the Henderson Hall as a community resource in 2017/18.

This means a great deal to us all at the Henderson Hub, and this year is a key one in our development, so maintaining financial support from the Parish Council is incredibly important.   As agreed with the council, this represents a slow decline in the grant that they provide towards the Henderson Hall as the Henderson Hub project looks to increase income from a range of other sources and ensure that the building is a vibrant, sustainable resource for all of the residents of Abbots Langley and the surrounding areas.

The Henderson Hub needs YOU!

2017 is starting with a bang at the Henderson Hub!  The construction works are underway to develop the front of the building, our comfy new raked seats have been ordered, new heating is being installed and our gallery space is getting ready for our first exhibition in February!

This all means that very soon we will be opening all day for several days in the week and offering many more events for everyone to enjoy.

However, as we are a volunteer run organisation – we need YOU to come join the team. You may already help out at our FilmHub events, or have been wanting to get involved but not seen the right opportunity – all are welcome.

If you want to find more and either confirm your interest, or if you’re brand new to the project, please come along on to the Henderson Hall on Wednesday 18th January at 7.45pm and hear all about the project and how you can be involved.

Come and enjoy a glass of wine with us and register your interest. We very much look forward to meeting you then!
